Over the span of less than 16 months, Lunex brought a Cincinnati landscaping company, Rock Solid Excavation, to the forefront of search engines. Rock Solid Excavation’s website went from an average daily impression level of 30 within the first 3 months of release to over 600 daily to date – a 300% increase in daily impressions alone! The website is now included in over 10 different top searches with keywords, a massive growth in impressions and appearance since its release.
Rock Solid Excavation contacted Lunex and our team in hopes to increase their public presence online in order to draw in more customers and traffic to their website. Online traffic is vital for Rock Solid’s operations and sales, so having the best possible search engine appearance was necessary for them to continue business. Because of this, we implemented new strategies, website structures, and designs to maximize Rock Solid Excavation’s clicks and impressions.
Evaluation of Website Needs and Issues
Rock Solid Excavation’s website was evaluated as poor for UI/UX and Google Optimization by Lunex’s Marketing Team. It was barely receiving 30 impressions a day and would be lucky to receive 1 organic click on the website. In terms of search engine impact and optimization, it was not reaching any desirable outcomes for Rock Solid Excavation, resulting in poor sales and public image. Furthermore, the website was limited to a small number of key search words, which only continued to harm its goals of achieving greater public recognition.

We started with the website itself, which was underperforming and needed a fresh slate. All content, contacts, user interface, and accessibility were updated or remodeled to ensure the highest quality of results, not only for potential customers, but also for Rock Solid themselves to better manage their new website systems. In this process it was vital to ensure that Rock Solid Excavation’s website rivaled any competitors in the local area. The goal wasn’t only to be recognized in Cincinnati, but as far as possible to ensure the greatest awareness of the company and its services.
In order to achieve this, the website overhaul included changes to the pages, schema, and site maps for Rock Solid’s website. Through this, improvements in optimization naturally followed, such as functionality and directness. The addition of videos and customer reviews also encouraged customer retention by showcasing the reliability of the company and its services. With a new sleek design and easy to access information and contacts, we were certain improvement in impressions and website traffic would quickly follow.
In early development, the website’s click rates were unusually high due to our own web crawling, but within the first 2 months development had stopped and natural client flow began. Because Rock Solid Excavation is an outdoor company(operates outside and relies on weather) it was expected its click rates would decrease during winter months, but as shown throughout all warm seasons there were drastic increases in click through rates.
